More books

I said I would never be tempted to more books yet here I am with two more!
Book cases are groaning, I've no idea where they'll go when I have finished gloating over them....
But, look at the subject, Japanese prints and patterns.

Here are a couple of pages........

  1. Lovely books Marie....envy! I think the sourcebook would be especially useful.

  2. Wouldn't it be a lovely idea to get together soon and share all the different sources of inspiration we're working with? I'd love to look through your new books Marie! How would you all like to come over and visit at my house? We could show work in progress and enthuse each other. (Maybe terrify each other if the truth were known!).

  3. I read that twice Linda before I saw the "all". How lovely, and yes that would be a great idea if everyone is up for it; thank you!

  4. I think that is a great idea Linda - I also have those gorgeous books Marie, and have just ordered a couple more from the Museum Collection that look equally exciting. I think I could work with this source of inspiration for a very long time. Any chance of waiting just a few weeks, as I am not so well at the moment? If not, don't worry - I'll catch up when I'm better. And I love those sketchbook pages Annabel, and I certainly subscribe to the 'never really happy with it' club ... I guess it is what keeps us striving! - Hilary x

  5. Dear Hilary - I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling too good at the moment. We shall definitely wait till you're better. I'll leave it a couple of weeks and then suggest some dates to see who is free and can make it here.

  6. Oh dear, sorry to hear you're not well Hilary - hope you feel better soon x Thank you for your comment about the sketch book pages - I think I'm happy when I'm not happy - if you see what I mean!

  7. I think that being unhappy with your own work is a very necessary part of striving for perfection. Have you noticed how surprised new comers are when we who have been at it for years admit to being dissatisfied? They actually seem to think we know what we are doing!!

    Take care of yourself, Hilary.
